Almost every 4th of July I watch fireworks set off between two towns. The wide view I’m able to obtain comes from a place out in the country. It provides a clear view of a lot of aerial activity. Based on what I witnessed tonight, the economy must be doing great. I have never seen so many illegal fireworks deployed. The official show that occurs in one of the towns was dwarfed by the onslaught of illegal fireworks set off.
*Disclaimer – I’m in California, which means only ground fireworks are legal. All air deployed are illegal. This might not be the case in your state or country.
The bottom line is that fireworks are expensive and it’s an unnecessary expense (You don’t need it to live.). A lot of disposable income was blown away tonight. On such a widespread scale this says to me that economic confidence among many is strong.
Take it for what it’s worth.
